More about what happens when economists write about nutrition

In this NBER working paper abstract, Richard Stessel of the Ohio State University uses data from 28,000 slave manifests housed at the National Archives to measure how weather and slaveowner decisions about nutrition inputs affected slave heights. The start of the title is: "Fluctuations in a Dreadful Childhood."
