Peter Menzel's wonderful 2005 book,
Hungry Planet, shows photographs of families around the world posing with their food supply for a week. A less expensive softback version comes out in September. A selection of the photographs is on display at
Time. These photographs carry a message for us. I fear it might be a reprimand.
Howdy! Thanks for posting this info on the Menzel book---I hope you don't mind, I posted a link to your site and the Time magazine stuff. Also, thanks for a great blog! chefjp
ReplyDeleteReprimand --- you bet! The way people in this country approach food (and just about everything else derived from our environment) is shameful. It's as if the air, land, plants, animals and everything in between exists solely for our use. This is not a sustainable approach and that is becoming more obvious with each passing day.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an interesting book... By the way, please note that I've tagged you. It's a fun way to help each other out and learn more about each other. Hope you participate.
